Kia makes their job look easy. Last year, their trophy case was overflowing with awards and accolades from some of the most elite car critics in the industry. We're barely into February and already they've added to the lot. However, the fact of the matter is the market has not been kind to any automakers in the past couple of years, especially in the U.S. and Europe.
In Europe, the climate is particularly frigid and shows no signs of thawing in 2012. In fact, industry experts project that the market will contract for the fifth consecutive year. Thankfully, these same gurus also forecast a steady recovery in the U.S.
What does all of this mean for Kia in terms of growth? A more aggressive approach than they might otherwise take. Specifically, Kia has announced plans to grow 2012 sales in the U.S. by 10 percent over 2011... by nearly 23 percent in Europe.
Now, you might assume these double-digit sales goals are expected to translate into a double-digit boost in global sales. They' not, which Central Kia of Plano believes puts the state of the overall market into even better perspective. Sales objectives in the U.S., Europe, South Korea, China and elsewhere in the world are expected to equate to a modest 9.5-percent increase.
How does Kia plan to accommodate their robust sales goals? Interestingly enough - not by increasing production at existing manufacturing facilities...at least not yet. Rather, the South Korean automaker plans to achieve their goals primarily by revamping the Cee'd small car in Europe, adding a luxe, new K9 to the mix in South Korea, winning over even more drivers with their award-winning lineup in the U.S., and building a new plant in China.
Be sure to stay tuned to find out how all of these aggressive goals play out. Central Kia of Plano, located at 3401 N Central Expressway, in Plano TX, is here to keep you up to date on all Kia global news - from sales to new Kia model launches to to philanthropic efforts.
