Kia Sales Up 37.1 Percent This Year

Kia continues to surprise the press and car enthusiasts by consistently exceeding expectations. So, the latest news from Kia really shouldn't be all that shocking. In only nine months, Kia has beaten all of their previously sales records - with a few months left in the calendar year.

Kia Motors America (KMA) recently announced that as of September, they have set new sales records for 13 consecutive months. The 18.4-percent (35,609 units) increase over this time last year is largely attributed to sales of the American-built Kia Sorento, and the well-received Kia Optima.

In its 16th straight year of growth, the Kia brand continues to evolve, reinvesting their profits into the U.S. job market. Last year, we saw the first Kia Sorento roll off the production line at Kia Motor America's West Point, Georgia plant. The success of the Kia Sorento was followed shortly by the American production of the 2012 Kia Optima. Both vehicles have become best-sellers in the U.S. market, underlining Kia's continued expansion and commitment to economic growth.
